Why the New York Jets need a copy editor

They need a copy editor to keep them from making a mistake like this one:

That’s Jets backup quarterback Mark Brunell — with only one “n” — during Monday night’s game.

Thanks to ESPN’s Paul Lukas for posting this today in his UniWatch blog.

You know who else needs copy editors? The Washington Post and the New York Times. And the St. Louis Cardinals.  And drive-in movie theater managers. And Home Depot and manufacturers of “hoodies.” And CNN. And college athletic department ticket offices. And road paving contractors. And restaurants. And cake decorators. And baseball jersey manufacturers. And Time magazine. And sign painters. And cake decorators. And T-shirt designers. And baseball jersey manufacturers.

  • Judging by what’s on the Internet, AP’s college football writers could use some copy editors, or at least some fact checkers. There have been some crazy twists of fact and history in many articles already.
